The Senior Mobility Guide provides information about transportation options for older people in San Mateo County. The Guide includes information about driver safety, shuttles, public transportation, walking, and other mobility topics. The Guide was first published in June 2007 and has since been updated twice. To date, more than 6,000 copies of the Guide have been distributed throughout the county. The information in the Guide is useful to individual seniors, to staff of senior centers providing assistance, and anyone helping an older family member or friend. |

About the Senior Mobility Initiative
The Senior Mobility Guide is a product of the San Mateo County Senior Mobility Initiative, a project of a broad coalition of concerned entities in San Mateo County, with the leadership of the San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans). The Initiative is a joint effort to keep older people safe and connected to their communities as problems related to aging make it harder for them to get around.
